Superman and the Legion of Super-heroes Comic Book
"Superman and the Legion of Super-Heroes" is a six-part Superman story written by Geoff Johns with art by Gary Frank (pencils), Jon Sibal (inks) and Dave McCaig (colors). It ran from 2007 till 2008 first appearing in Action Comics no. 858 through 863 with an epilogue in 864. It was eventually collected into a trade paperback.
Superman is whisked away one thousand years into the future at Brainiac 5's request to help the Legion of Super-Heroes who are in trouble. Once there he discovers that he has no super-powers because Earth's sun has turned red. Superman learns that a team of rejects from the Legion has organized itself as the new Justice League and has either incarcerated the Legion's members or pushed them underground. This new Justice League has also proscribed non-terrestrial beings from Earth (including humans of terrestrial ancestry but born outside of the planet) and propagated the version that Superman had actually been an Earthling all along. It is up to Superman to rally the Legion to fight the Justice League and recover his powers before Earth is invaded by aliens who resent the League's xenophobic policies.

DC The New Frontier Part 1 Comic Book
New Frontier reinvasions the superheroes DC Comics launched in the late 1950s by placing them firmly in the Cold War milieu that seldom surfaced in the original stories. The results could be ponderous but aren't, thanks to author-artist Cooke, who freshly reimagines the earliest exploits of such hoary heroes as the Flash and Green Lantern, and offers compellingly unorthodox versions of some venerable superstars: he portrays Superman, for instance, as a smug government lapdog. Cooke's intelligently retro art style is perfectly suited to the task at hand. Its cartoonish simplicity, though unfashionable among today's detail-obsessed comics fans, possesses nearly matchless elegance and dynamism.
Especially effective is his reliance on rectilinear panels that convey the sweep of 1950s widescreen movies. Despite its decades-old setting, New Frontier is the most exciting recent superhero comic, and testimony to the enduring power of DC's iconic heroes. It's complex enough to captivate current comics fans yet compelling for nostalgic boomers who grew up with these characters.
This book's story will be concluded in volume 2. Gordon Flagg

Tale of young Dick Grayson's baptism by fire as he dons the costume of Robin for the first time! Becoming a hero is anything but easy! After a young Dick Grayson's parents were murdered, millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne took the youth in as his ward and changed his life forever. Using his days in the circus as a trapeze artist as a basis for his education, Batman spent months training Dick in the ways of combat and crime fighting. This book presents Dick's baptism by fire as he dons the costume of Robin, the Boy Wonder for the first time and patrols the night by Batman's side. In his earliest adventures, Robin learns very quickly that what he thought would be fun is actually a matter of life and death.
For years he fought alongside Gotham City's greatest protector, the light to Batman's irrepressible darkness. Against all manner of foe he braved inconceivable odds, ever skirting the line between heroism and death.
His name is Dick Grayson. Before he became Night wing he was the first to don the mantle of Robin. When his parents fell victim to the machinations of a mobster, millionaire Bruce Wayne, known to a precious few as the Batman, took the young orphan under his wing. For months Grayson trained in the ways of crime fighting, until at last he was ready to patrol the night with his mentor. But the training ground and the threats of the real world are two very different things. For the newly anointed Robin, it would be a baptism of fire.
Batman gave Robin his Direction. The evil of the world would shape his destiny. This is his story.
